March 22-23, 2020
Dear MAVH Clients,
March 21st brought news of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Washington County. The woman is experiencing mild symptoms and is self-quarantining at her home. She had NOT been recently traveling.
SO this highly-contagious virus has arrived in our backyard, even as the flowers bloom and birds sing.
It is ESSENTIAL that MAVH keeps doing what we do to help your pets stay healthy, but now we have to also work hard to keep ALL of us humans healthy, too. This is a work-in-progress, so please be prepared for more changes and/or revisions.
Small animal veterinary medicine is a very close-up, loving, hands-on profession which makes it really difficult to maintain CDC-recommended safe social distancing but we WILL!!
As a result, we have made the following adjustments to our delivery of care and services:
NO Clients will be permitted inside MAVH except:
1) For beloved pet euthanasia-TWO HEALTHY CLIENT MAXIMUM.
2) For complicated inpatient and/or surgery releases-ONE HEALTHY CLIENT MAXIMUM, DOCTOR-DISCRETION.
3) For Emergency/Sick cases: ONE HEALTHY CLIENT MAXIMUM, DOCTOR-DISCRETION.
AS FOR OTHER TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS, such as VACCINATIONS, nail trims, blood work, IV fluid therapy, Rehab, prescription pickups, etc., you will experience “Curbside Check-ins as well as discharges, prescription delivery, etc.
CURBSIDE APPOINTMENTS WILL RECEIVE POST-EXAM CALL FROM YOUR PET’S DOCTOR!
The Doctors and Staff of MAVH appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this quickly-evolving Pandemic. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER and need to be responsible for and respectful of any changes aimed at keeping ALL OF US HEALTHY. THANK YOU for your confidence and trust!
